COVID-19 UPDATE - 3.23.20

March 23, 2020

Dear Valued Command Light Partner:

In light of changing restrictions and “shelter in place” orders put in place in response of the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to provide an update on our team, facilities, operations and business availability, along with the precautions Command Light is taking to ensure the safety of our employees, suppliers, customers and community while delivering on essential orders placed by fire and emergency departments throughout the United States.

In accordance with the Department of Homeland Security’s Essentials Workers guidance memorandum, issued on 3-19-20, Command Light’s services are part of the Critical Business Infrastructure, and our workers are “necessary for the manufacturing of materials and products needed for … transportation, emergency services and the defense industrial base.” Additionally, Command Light supplies components to companies that have been listed as part of the Critical Infrastructure Workforce, and as such, these components are vital in ensuring agencies’ life-sustaining services.

As of today, Command Light is open and operating with the understanding that many communities and life-sustaining businesses are counting on the components we manufacture. As such, we have implemented a number of precautions and protocols recommended by government authorities and health organizations, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, to safeguard our employees’ wellbeing. Employee outbound travel has been severely restricted, and we are asking that customers and suppliers try to refrain from visiting our facility. We remain available to respond to your needs by phone, email or webinar; normal business hours remain in effect.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a force majeure event with societal and business impacts that are rapidly evolving; we are doing our best to work with partnering suppliers to maintain all essential orders. We ask that our buyer/commodity partners provide any updates as their business is affected to help us continue to evaluate and forecast our own production. In return, our executive committee is regularly assessing local, state and federal directives to ensure we are operating in accordance with guidelines; should operational circumstances change, we will communicate them to our customers and partners as soon as possible.

At this time, we stand ready to serve, and we hope for everyone’s health and safety.
